A true, real friend is found. She laughs and plays and giggles and understands. She has the same silly humor, and even if she doesn't like the same ice cream flavor, that doesn't matter. A real friend is found...and that with a heart-warming twist.
This is a super sweet book, which warms the heart and has the listener wanting to run out and hug a friend of their own. The simple happiness of having someone to share moments with radiates from every page. Of course, there's a little silliness involved and tons of laughter because that's what friends do together. But there are also quiet moments. Friendship is summed up in a way young readers can easily relate to...and one adults will smile at. Friendship is wonderful, and these pages sum that up.
The illustrations accompany the text and let the moments bloom. Even the most ridiculous fun like being a pickle comes across clearly. It's hard not to smile as the two girls spend time together and even harder not to wish that one could join them. Because this friendship is golden.
The ending rounds it off perfectly and packs a surprise. But it slides right in with childhood friendship and shows how fantastic it really is.
